Buttock Implants In The News…

Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon announces new "gain but no pain" surgical technique for Buttock Implants, Breast Augmentation, Tummy Tucks, Calf Implants, and other surgeries.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA (PRWEB) February 8, 2004--Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Ryan Stanton explained why more women in the United States may be undergoing breast augmentation surgeries this year than ever before.

"With increased consumer interest in plastic surgery, certainly helped by the news media with shows like Extreme Makeover (ABC), and The Swan (Fox), currently in the United States alone over 250,000 women receive breast augmentations annually," said Stanton. "That figure," he continued, " is likely to double due to a newly available pain-free surgical technique."

Dr. Stanton is one of the first plastic surgeons in CA to use indwelling catheters with a pain pump for post-operative pain relief He has been an innovator of making widespread use of the pain pump to relieve and control post operative breast augmentation pain. His careful study and use of the pain pump has confirmed that the pump is by far the most effective approach for relieving post operative pain when compared to using conventionally prescribed oral medications. The pump has proven to be far superior in providing comfort and a speedier recovery for patients.

Stanton’s patients commented on the benefits they experienced from the pain pump which included no nausea, sedation, or dizziness which are common side effects of narcotics, to being unaware of an incision, and how almost immediately they were "on their feet with no pain".

By offering a pain free solution to post-op surgery, it (the pain pump) expands the potential market of women who want this procedure with a speedier recovery, without the pain and at no extra cost.

With a tiny catheter (smaller than the tip of a pencil) inserted into breast from near the armpit, a light weight "pump" is attached to release anesthetic automatically (at 2cc’s per hour) to treat post-op pain. Attached to a patient’s clothing or belt, the pain pump is completely portable. Providing the patient with automatic uninterrupted pain relief for a 72-hour period, essentially no patient or doctor monitoring is required. Removal is done by a doctor or nurse and is a simple, pain-free 10-second procedure. No additional scars are created by this technique.

The pain pump can also be used for tummy tucks, buttock implants, calf implants, and other surgeries. While pain pumps have been used for some 10 or more years in the world of surgery, the entrance of a pain pump with an indwelling catheter is new to plastic surgery. Dr. Stanton recommends all patients consult with their doctor prior to surgery about this pain pump.
